I eat, a lot! But after travelling 6 hours on the road the wife and I decided on getting pizza for dinner, and randomly choose Sal’s. It turned out to be the best decision of a lifetime. As I said, I eat a lot, and the pizza we had at Sal’s ranks as best, or equal best we’ve had in 25 years. We had the family size Sal’s special with added anchovies. I’m pretty sure this pizza has everything in the shop on it. It was delicious and generously sized, the flavours worked beautifully together with the anchovies adding that burst of saltiness and umami. The dine in seating is a little tight for us but fine for more slender customers. The staff were friendly and attentive. I was particularly impressed with the girl working the “front of house” and cash register, she was super friendly and dealt with a multitude of takeaway customers and dine in customers with a smile and a calm attitude. Everything was quick, fresh and hot and the price was as expected ($45) for a family pizza and a beer. If Sal’s pizzeria wasn’t 6 hours away I’d be here every week. Well worth the stop.

Sal's is not just a pizza place, it's a way of life. I have been a pizza fan for as long as I can remember, but since moving to the North East, Sal's has won my heart. The pizza is simply devine, the service is fantastic and the staff are great! The only issue I have, is that I can't help but order a family size so I can relive my love for it the next day, yet years into this tactic.. no slice has made it through the night. Was very pleased with our experience. My daughter has coeliac disease and it is very hard to find a pizza place that will go above and beyond to try their best to eliminate cross contamination. Obviously there is no guarantee in a pizza place and I assume the same oven is used but I was happy with the steps they take to keep it safe. The place is very classy and the pizza was delicious. Will go here every time we visit.

The service is excellent - friendly and efficient. The pizzas are delicious- we had the Sal’s special and the prosciutto. The cocktails were so yummy (and only $12 as we went during happy hour). Be sure to save room for gelato. We were told that it’s made by an Italian man in Wodonga using full cream milk and fresh ingredients. We had the lemon meringue cheesecake and raspberry and white chocolate. Absolutely amazing. 10/10 for this place! We will be back!
